Meet Megan.

Megan Leavitt, Founder

Megan Leavitt grew up exploring the woods of central Maine.  From a young age she dreamed of distant lands and was curious about our connection to community, culture, and the natural world.  Megan holds a BA in Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz and has spent two decades sharing time between coastal Maine and remote parts of Central and South America. The inspiration for the Wild Island Center comes from a personal passion to preserve culture, traditional wisdom, meaningful connection, and rich community through the sharing of creative expression and traditional living skills.  Megan is a CCAR Recovery Coach, Community Herbalist, Master Gardener, Private Chef, Artist, Educator, and the founder of the Wild Island Center. Megan is known for her uninhibited laugh and is happiest in the ocean, speaking Spanish, cooking over fire, and dancing.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Wild Island Center.
